In a recent study, people were asked to work out what 27 plus 56 is. A good number of them opened a chatbot to get the answer.

Another task asked for a word that means the same as "enjoy." On that one, 54% of people used AI.

There was even a question that asked, if today is Monday, what day is it in two days. People used AI for that too.

These are things you answer without thinking. And that's basically the whole study. It's out of Stanford, it ran across three experiments with around 2,700 people, and it's chasing one question that sounds almost too small to bother asking.
