When electricity arrived, everyone got the same electricity.

You could use more of it than your neighbor if you paid for more. But the electricity itself was identical. Same current, same power, same thing coming out of the wall.

The internet worked the same way. The connection feeding a mansion and the one feeding a small apartment carry the same web.

Phones and laptops did too. Buy a $100 phone or a $1,000 one, and the core is the same. You can call, you can browse, you can take photos on both.

Notice the pattern. Every technology that actually lifted humanity was built to treat people roughly equally. The floor was the same for everyone, and money only bought you more of it, not a better version of it.
